A richly detailed fair-isle sweater.Bar Harbor is knit in the round in little fair-isle patterns. Armholes are steeked, and the pattern provides detailed instructions on how to knit, secure, and open steeks. We use hand-sewing to secure steeks, because we know how safely it protects against unraveling. We also know that not all knitters necessarily have a sewing machine. However, if you are an experienced fair-isle knitter, feel free to use your own technique. Besides providing a lovely new outfit for an 18-inch doll, this kit is also an ideal first fair-isle project that should enable you to embark on a "people-size" sweater next.
